Our Mission & Commitment

While creating More To Love Consignment, I reflected on every negative shopping experience I had ever encountered, and I resolved to build something radically different. I had always dreamed of having one of those “normal” shopping trips portrayed in television and movies: a day spent with friends trying on dozens of outfits until one makes you feel like a million bucks. In those idealized depictions, the cost is rarely mentioned, every piece fits perfectly, and there's never crying, fighting, or panic attacks.

In contrast, my own shopping experiences were often closer to nightmares than dreams. I would spend hours visiting multiple stores, hoping to find even a few pieces that I loved. More often than not, when I finally discovered something I adored, the price would be beyond my reach, and I would have to settle for something else or leave empty-handed.

The media rarely addresses the cost of being unable to access affordable clothing. The high cost of living means that millions of people struggle to find budget-friendly clothes for themselves and their families. This issue affects people of all sizes; however, the impact can be much more damaging when, in addition to the inability to afford clothing, individuals can't find accessible options that fit in the first place.

The media rarely shows the shame that both parents and children feel when a family is unable to provide school clothes. The insecurity experienced during a job interview in ill-fitting attire or the disappointment of canceling a date because you don’t have anything you feel attractive in can be heartbreaking. Even though the pain of not attending an event because you can't afford to meet the dress code, find something that matches the theme, or feel like everyone will judge you no matter what you show is rarely portrayed in film these experiences are real and fair to common.

I know these experiences are real because I have lived them. I understand how harsh realities can affect one’s self-worth and access to opportunities. These truths have been a part of my life since childhood, and I know I’m not alone. Drawing on both my struggles and the glamorous ideals as guides, I set out to design More To Love Consignment as a haven where every customer can find stylish, well-fitting, and affordable fashion. While I will always be looking for ways to improve your shopping experience and the positive impact of More To Love on our local community and the larger conversation about body equality and inclusion, I am proud of the space I have created, and I believe you will love it too.

Of course, nothing is truly accomplished alone. My business and I are supported by many people in our community, both locally and from afar. More To Love is a family business that has benefitted from the unwavering support and dedication of my partner, Lars Gruner, who devotes several hours a week to our shop, as well as our daughter, who often helps on weekends. Each rack features a thoughtfully curated, eclectic collection of over 2,000 affordably priced items, all available in sizes above 12, organized in a comfortable and inclusive space. Whether you’re shopping for a big date, a job interview, or simply to celebrate yourself, More To Love is here to help you feel confident and beautiful. More than just selling clothes we commit to our community we donate 1000s of items every year to small local non-profits and by offering our consignors no fees and fair percentages we help keep the dollar circulating in our communities and provide extra income to individuals, couples, and families.

I invite you to experience our curvy haven in person here in Asheville, NC, or visit our online store. I can't wait to meet you and share in the journey of self-love and empowerment that has defined my life.
